Reverend S.J. McIntyre was an Elder in our District for many, many years - having moved here from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he pastored his first church. Brother McIntyre was a faithful preacher, holding many revivals in the District, as well as across the church. He pastored Redfield, SD and Billings MT (two different times).
Rev. & Mrs. McIntyre retired in Billings where he raised a large garden each year. He was a real prayer warrior. His wife worked at the Deaconess Hospital, and taught the adult Sunday School class in The Wesleyan Church for many years. Rev. McIntyre could hike up the mountain trails to the lakes and streams in pursuit of the mountain trout. He was also a good chef and cooked for camp at Aberdeen and at Rapid City until his health failed. They passed away with a few months of each other in 1976.
