Dan Palmer was a faithful Christian layman who attended the Richland Wesleyan Church at Mina, South Dakota. He was a man of prayer, described by his pastor as always eager to learn spiritual truths, and was one of the first to always testify of God's grace and enablement in his life. A number of times when the church would be in difficult financial straits, it was Dan's prayers and stewardship that enabled them to move on 'unto a brighter day'.
His children wanted his memory and ministry to be perpetuated through a memorial scholarship to assist young men and women to prepare for full-time Christian service.
